The College of Public Service and Community Solutions is recruiting for a Graphic Design Specialist that will be responsible for designing electronic and printed materials for a variety of college publications, displays, presentations, newsletters, fliers, brochures, as well as support for website and electronic newsletter graphics. The right candidate will support content creation including layout and original design, as well as photography. This person will work directly with internal clients and coordinate vendor resources as needed.
•Designs, illustrates and prepares a variety of brochures, annual reports, instructional materials, web sites, posters, exhibits, flyers, letterheads, logos, certificates, forms and other newsletters and departmental publications and printed materials
•Creates electronically designed page layouts and develops web-based graphics
•Prepares sketches, renderings, drawings, cover illustrations and various artwork involving mechanical and freehand drawing and lettering
•Coordinates project scope, including adherence to timelines, gathering content, obtaining vendor bids as needed and preparing final product
•Coordinates production, proofs and printing, ensuring quality standards are met
•Contributes to web design and development, including existing and new web pages
•Maintains department inventory of print materials
•Serves as subject matter expert on ASU brand standards
•Contributes to, and maintains photo library
•May coordinate and lead the work of others
•May contribute to department project management
•Receives managerial review of assignments for adherence to established college objectives and goals.
•Uses graphics programs, including Creative Cloud.
•Provides regular review of work activities to volunteers to ensure compliance with established standards.

Graphic Design Specialist Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field AND four (4) years experience in graphic design and/or website design; OR, Eight (8) years experience in graphic design and/or website design; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
•Experience in graphic design and layout.
•Experience with printing procedures and requirements.
•Demonstrated knowledge of photography techniques and photo manipulation
•Experience in directing photo shoots.
•Experience with HTML or other web authoring languages.
•Demonstrated knowledge of project management techniques.
•Experience with video production and/or editing.
•Experience in interpreting messages into visual form.
•Evidence of effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
•Experience n effectively establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
•Experience in producing quality work while under tight deadlines, with competing priorities.
•Activities are performed in multiple environmentally-controlled buildings subject to extended periods of sitting, standing and walking
•Physical demands include stooping, bending, reaching, lifting up to 35 pounds, pushing objects of varying weights up to 200 pounds (with the assistance of appropriate mechanical aids/tools), and walking moderate distances between site locations
•Exposure to dust and other airborne materials.
•Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts.
•Communicate verbally and in writing to perform essential duties.
•Use standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, scanner copier, calculator, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals.
